Registered Counselling Candidate
Marissa Hurtubise
Mahone Bay and Virtual
I earned my undergraduate degree with a major in psychology from Carleton University, a master’s degree in counselling psychology from Yorkville University in Fredericton, I have worked as a first responder in Nova Scotia for over a decade and have had the honour of supporting individuals and their families through some of their most life-altering moments. This has given me a unique perspective not only on trauma, but on the healing that is possible afterward. I bring this perspective with me to my new role as counsellor, as well as the belief that we all carry within us the innate ability to heal. I support individuals across the lifespan with Cognitive Therapy, ACT and Eye-Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR). I am also training in Play Therapy.
It would be an honour to walk alongside you in your healing journey.
