Meet the MPTC TEAM

Theresa Fraser - Executive Director / Lead Therapist

Theresa pictou .jpg

Theresa has had a long career as both a Play Therapy Supervisor and Adult Educator. She has won Provincial, National and North American awards for her teaching and work with children, youth and families. She has published many books on Amazon, book chapters and articles. She is passionate about the therapeutic powers of play as well as supporting clinicians to use them.

She is happy to support the development of Play Therapy in the Canadian Maritimes both as a registered counselling therapist  (Nova Scotia and PEI ) and a registered psychotherapist (Ont) and workshop facilitator/trainer. Theresa has taught internationally in Italy, England and Ireland on topics related to Play Therapy, Sandtray and Trauma.

She doesn't like to describe herself as a therapist as much as a Journey Walker. Change begins with the first step of the journey. Children, youth and families often know what direction they need to go into and it is a privilege to walk along side of them.

Sonia Clark - Counselling Therapist Candidate

Tamue Clarke - Counselling Therapist Candidate

My name is Tamue Clarke. I am a BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, and people of color) counselling therapist registered in Nova Scotia, Canada. I deliver genuinely caring, compassionate and culturally competent therapy by meeting each client where they are on their journey.
I provide an approach that is always client centered, collaborative and anti-oppressive. Counselling for me sees the client in the driver’s seat and therapist in the passenger seat helping the client to reach their set destination. I work mainly through a strengths-based, emotion focused and solution-focused, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Narrative Therapy and anti-racist lens. With over 7 years of Early Childhood Education experience, I also offer play therapy informed therapeutic intervention. As a non-judgmental therapist I work with a diverse clientele of children/ youth, adolescents, and adults. I am particularly passionate about children, immigrants, BIPOC and marginalized groups. I am currently working towards my certification as a Canadian Play Therapist
