Counselling Therapist Candidate -
Kayla Darlene Warren- Dartmouth
I work primarily with children using a client centred play therapy approach. I believe in the power of play as it allows children and youth to engage in a comfortable, and familiar, form of expression to process things that may be challenging to share otherwise. I aim to help provide children and instil a sense of security, regulation, and resilience in order to feel safe and explore the world. I am one of three clinicians in Nova Scotia trained in Autplay which is a specific approach to utilize while working with neurodivergent children and children on the autism spectrum. Kayla can also utilize Theraplay (c) activities with children and caregivers.

She doesn't like to describe herself as a therapist as much as a Journey Walker. Change begins with the first step of the journey. Children, youth and families often know what direction they need to go into and it is a privilege to walk along side of them.
