Meet the Person behind MPTC
Theresa has had a long career as both a Play Therapy Supervisor and Adult Educator. She has won Provincial, National and North American awards for her teaching and work with children, youth and families. She has published many books, book chapters and articles. She is passionate about the therapeutic powers of play as well as supporting clinicians to use them.
She is happy to support the development of Play Therapy in the Canadian Maritimes both as a registered counselling therapist (Nova Scotia) and a registered psychotherapist (Ont) and workshop facilitator/trainer. In 2019 she is teaching workshops in Italy (INA PLAY THERAPY) and Toronto as well as St. John's for the Canadian Association for Play Therapy.
She doesn't like to describe herself as a therapist as much as a Journey Walker. Change begins with the first step of the journey. Children, youth and families often know what direction they need to go into and it is a privilege to walk along side of them.
